This is a review of Make Up For Ever Skin Equalizer Smoothing Primer. There are 10 new pre-foundation primers from Make Up For Ever, some of which are designed to address dryness, large pores, fine lines, and oiliness; others are designed to address the underlying skin tone (too red, too sallow, and so on).
I am reviewing the Make Up For Ever Skin Equalizer Smoothing Primer whose goal is to diminish the appearance of large pores and fine lines. It has the added benefit, at least in my case, of making my skin look less oily. Below are the before and after photos of my cheek.
BEFORE PHOTO: Nothing on my skin – you can see shininess and large pores, quite horrible actually.
AFTER PHOTO: You can see that my skin looks less shiny and that a lot of pores (not all) have been covered. The result is quite dramatic! I wore this primer for 5 hours today without foundation and I found that it kept my face from being shiny and the pores from being too obvious. I applied a thin layer only and yet the result is very good.
The Make Up For Ever smoothing primer is a beige-coloured light cream (see photo below) that, when spread over skin, dries down to an almost invisible finish. The colour isn’t visible. It blurs the pores and fine lines. I got a sample from Sephora. Please get samples before you commit to buying the product. At Sephora, they’re very good with giving you samples and the stores are well-lit or have windows, so you can see in natural light how your face looks. They have small hand-held mirrors, too.
At Sephora USA, you can buy the full sized Make Up For Ever Skin Equalizer Smoothing Primer or a travel size version ($16) or the full product ($36).
